When you click Messages, Contacts, Call Logs, Notes or Calendars in TouchCopy, the software will first attempt to make a backup of your device. If this is taking a long time, please check the top of your iPhone. Is there a spinning icon? (If you are using an iPhone with the "notch" at the top of the screen, you'll need to swipe down from the top of the screen in order to check for the spinning icon in your Control Centre).
As long as this spinning icon remains, TouchCopy is communicating with the iPhone in order to create a temporary backup to read messages from. This can take some time depending on how much content is stored on the device.
Please keep an eye on your device, as it may prompt you to enter your passcode to trust the computer, before the backup process can begin.
If the icon should disappear, but TouchCopy remains on backing up your device for at least another 5 mins, there could be an error.
